He was born March 1, 1953 at the Lakeside Clinic in De- Funiak Springs, Fla. Mehlhorn was a well known business man, 'aised in the grocery business by his father, Rudy Mehlhorn. Mehlhorn is preceded in death by his father, Rudolf "Rudy" Mehlhorn and his wife, Rita Mehlhorn. Mehlhorn is survived by his daughter, Sabrina Me- hlhorn; his son, Franz Me- hlhorn and fianc6, Jenifer Hurst; two sisters, Loraine Griggs and husband, L.C. of Argyle, Elaine Sanders and husband, Jim of Greenville, S.C.; his mother, Edith Me- hlhorn, and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Slama. The family will be accept- ing condolences from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Mehlhorn's Mini Mart in Argyle. A guest book will be available for signatures. He was 60. Funeral services were held at 2'p.m. Friday, April 9, 2010 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Thomas Ealum, Jr. officiating. Buri- al followed in the Mt. Currington Wash Junior Currington, 66, passed away April 7, 2010 . He was born June 1, 1943 in Red Bay, Fla. to Walker W. and Burlie Rush- ing Currington. Currington was a life long resident of Walton County, Fla., he was Protestant by faith. He worked as a tow boat captain for 38 years before retiring. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. "Big Al" The- riot, Jr., our father, grand- father, brother, uncle and friend was received into his heavenly home on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010 at the age of 73. He was a native of New Orleans, former resident of Harahan and Luling, and resided in DeFuniak Springs, Fla. for the past 10 years. He was a graduate of East Jefferson High School, and served in the U. S. Navy for 2 years. He returned to New Orleans and entered" the night class of policeman at Loyola University. He earned a bachelor degree in criminology, history and so- ciology and graduated with honors, also having been inducted into the Cross Keys Honor Society. He served over 20 years on the N.O.P.D., retired and served a short.time with the Hara- han Police Department. He then found, his home in the St. Charles Parish Police Departmeat.. He distin- guished himself, having at- tended and taught many, many classes statewide, including F.B.I. classes, He retired from the department having achieved the rank of St. Charles Parish Chief of Detectives. After retiring, he moved to DeFuniak Springs, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and playing golf. Beloved husband of Peggy Martin Theriot and former brothers, Alvie Currington and wife, Faye, Charles Currington, all of Ponce de Leon, Rod Currington of De- Funiak Springs; two sisters, Argie Griswald of DeFuniak Springs, and Minnie Wil- lene Cawthon and husband, George, of Ponce de Leon. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, April 9. 2010 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home with Revs. Kenny and Royce Montgomery officiating. All friends and family" were invited to a memorial and remembrance at the DeFuniak Springs Country club on Saturday April 10, 2010 at 2 p.m. Locally owned and family operated Nobles Judy Nobles passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010 a week after her 53rd birth- day in Chautauqua Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born March 29, 1957 in Pensacola, Fla., the daugh- ter of Marion Hutcheson and Marie Brannon.. A lifelong resident of the Freeport and DeFuniak Springs, Fla., area, Judy at.tended Walton County Schools. She worked many years in the restau- rant/club business. In later life, she enjoyed growing flowers and had a distinct love of hummingbirds which always fascinated her. She PAGE 7-B was a Young and Restless viewer, but her greatest love was for her family, her mother and her Aunt Ruth, her children and especially her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her hus- band, Leon Curtis Nobles. Among survivors are her sma, Frank Parker; her daughter, Lisa Jones and husband Roy; her sisters, Sherree Amason and hus- band David, Sarah Watson and husbanff Kenneth; and her brother, Don Brannon and wife Sherry; her grand- children, Madysen, Clayton, Curtis and Aaron and a spe- cial aunt, Ruth.
